Herbal acne remedies proven to work for acne sufferers, why they work, and how to use them for long-term results... Herbs that work for acne generally work in one or more of 4 ways:
- They stimulate the cleansing of the blood via stimulating the liver to work harder purifying the blood of congestion and hormones.
- They help kill bacteria and fungal infections that pollute the blood and keep the liver from doing its job filtering congestion and hormones from your blood.
- The suppress your body from making androgenic hormones.
- They kill bacteria and fungal/yeast pathogens that pollute your blood and overwhelm your liver. (This class of herbals is the only herbals that can safely be used for longer periods because they are not directly throwing any organ systems out of balance.)
Category 1 herbs (liver cleansers) generally produce the most dramatic short-term anti-acne effects. But they also “rebound” the fastest. So they can’t really be taken long-term (nor are they effective long-term).
Herbs that suppress androgens in your system work much longer. However I don’t think it’s a good idea to suppress androgenic hormones for long periods. Androgenic hormones serve an important purpose in proper sexual development. So this approach I feel should be used with caution.
Herbs that protect and stimulate liver function tend to work longer-term. They are safer long-term bets. However, the effects on acne are usually far less dramatic then the liver cleansers.
Herbals that kill bacteria and fungus… well, because they work by killing a pathogen and NOT throwing your system out of balance your body does not rebound from them. Therefore they work much longer.
However, if you don’t heal the internal problem that caused the yeast/fungus and bacteria to overgrow in your system what happens is these pathogens start to develop immunity to the herb. And as a result the acne herb becomes less and less effective.
So it’s important that you not only kill the pathogen, but also HEAL the problem in your internal system that allowed the pathogen to overgrow. This can be done. To do so you’ll need to add some healing foods and make diet modifications we’ll cover later on... Continue »
